CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT
Conservative periodontal treatment is applied either as the only treatment in cases of incipient or moderate periodontitis or as a preparation for the surgical phase of the subsequent treatment. It is a painless procedure since it is always performed under local anaesthesia.
If the first examination finds that the objectives of the periodontal therapy have been achieved, treatment is completed at this stage. Particularly important is the long-term preservation of the treatments we complete. For this reason, the re-examination is an integral part for the maintenance of the treatment results, as well as the patient’s full cooperation regarding oral hygiene.
SURGICAL
TREATMENT
The surgical treatment of periodontitis is applied in cases where the objectives of conservative periodontal therapy have not been achieved with the inflammation control phase or when the severity of the periodontitis is advanced,
the solution is in the phase of repairing the damage through periodontal surgery.
GUIDED BONE REGENERATION (TRANSPLANTS)
The main consequence of periodontal disease is the loss of bone surrounding the tooth resulting in loss of its support. Where this loss is particularly extensive, an attempt shall be made to regenerate the tissues lost to the disease.
